This introductory course offers a gentle, respectful entry into Southern Michif language and Métis culture. Through story, voice, and listening-first learning, you will begin to hear the rhythm of the language and understand its connection to land, kinship, humour, and resilience.
Designed For Beginners and Returning Learners Alike
This is not a grammar-based course. It is a relational approach that centres Elder voice, cultural teachings, and everyday use. You will be invited to listen, speak a few words, reflect, and carry small pieces of the language into daily life. You do not need prior knowledge or fluency to begin. Curiosity, respect, and willingness are enough.
